🚨 We invite you to participate in the first workshop—«Counter-narratives and digital campaigns against gentrification and touristification»—organized by the OGAT Collective Training School. This initiative serves as a space for international coordination among resistance movements opposing touristification, gentrification, and short-term rentals.
The workshop will be led by Gentrificación en tu idioma, a
collective that runs an Instagram page with 9 million followers and addresses the urban phenomenon of gentrification from a linguistic and critical perspective, analyzing how the redevelopment of working-class neighborhoods displaces their original residents through the use of language and culture. Our first session will also feature an introduction by Sarah Gainsforth, an Italian writer and journalist who works on touristification, gentrification, housing, and urban transformations in Italy and Europe.
